My folks were going on a two week long trip. It was going to lead them all around the middle of the country. They were going to Ohio and Michigan and then working their way towards Illinois and Indiana. They were excited about their trip and had arranged a great series of hotels and activities. Alas, there was a bump in the road. Well there was a bump before the road even began. Their car broke down. They could lose precious time waiting for it to be fixed or they could as they did wisely invest in a vacation car rental. On schedule they were off, and their car was in the shop, it would be ready when they returned.
I wish I could say there was an eventful end point to the story though for my parents I am certain they were thrilled the whole trip was so smooth. The vacation car rental was a great car, smooth ride, CD player, working air conditioning. If anything things may have been a little too relaxed for them. They got home without that biting attitude they always had. They weren’t mad about the mess around the house or anything. Who were these people?
